Is Ad thresh good?
Absolutely. He has a good kit and even though I still run into a lot of players that don’t know what Thresh is capable of, that does not make him a bad champ.
Is thresh mid viable?
Mid game he really just does too much damage for you to try and kill him so I recommend you don’t try and fight him mid game. He doesn’t scale well into late game though so you can definitely try and kill him late game.
Can Thresh be an ADC?
I was Nidalee support with an ADC Thresh bot lane. I learned a lot that game, namely Thresh can’t play bot ADC. Unlike most ADC’s with long range ULT’s, Thresh’s ULT is a close range spell, so he has to be in the thick of combat to take full advantage of it, and it’s too easy for your opp to Flash out of it.

Yes. If you want to play Thresh off meta you are better off playing an AD(Burst) style of Thresh. His E scales with his AD and souls gathered, with Dark Harvest or Electrocute you can do a decent amount of damage with your auto attacks.

He’s difficult yeah, but not overwhelmingly so like a Lee or an Azir. His crowd control means your team will never be without, and he can make picks even with a fully passive team. Unique defensive tool to help people who are overextended, and hes ranged and thus harder to abuse in lane.

The problem with Thresh ADC is: His abilities interrupt his autoattack animation / he is not able to AA while using his hook, or his flair. Everything else is fine on him, he get nice AS per level, but he is pretty short-ranged and better as tanky support.

Mid Thresh Mid lane thresh is significantly more challenging than ADC, as you no longer have the peel and help of a support. Additionally, with a short auto attack range, slow movement speed, and low mobility, you can be very susceptible to ganks. Vision control and careful trades are very important.
