Your current 9mm 1911 frame is probably not wide enough to accommodate a . 45 ACP width magazine. Additionally, I don’t know if the feed ramp would allow the change in caliber. You would need a new slide, because the hole for the new larger firing pin would need to be bigger, as well as a new extractor.
