In addition, due to an inter-UC reciprocity agreement, students from other UC campuses can use the ARC for free.
Is the arc free?
Annual Membership is the most economical way to enjoy all the ARC has to offer, but is not required. All pass holders (annual, multiple, and daily) will have access to the indoor leisure pool, gymnasium, game room, indoor track, cardio/strength training zones, and changing rooms at no additional charge.

Campus Rec provides recreation and wellness opportunities to students and the university community. Current full-time Illinois students are automatically members provided they have been assessed the Student Service Fee. University affiliates are eligible to purchase memberships at specified rates.
Can you have a car at UIUC?
Unlike at some other campuses, all UI students, including freshmen, are allowed to bring cars to college. There are approximately 16,000 parking spaces. Most of the parking permits on campus are issued for faculty and staff; generally, the number is around 8,500, Wahl said.
Where can I park for free at UIUC?
After 5:00 pm Friday through 6:00 am Monday, visitors may park in the following lots without a permit at no charge:
- B1 Springfield Avenue between Mathews and Goodwin.
- B17 Harvey Street between Clark and Main.
- C09 Chalmers and Sixth.
- D09 Illinois and Lincoln.
- E14 First Street and Kirby.
- F23 Lincoln Avenue and Florida.
