Models that have backlight support are enabled with the Fn + F9 key set when the drivers and controllers are properly updated. By looking at the keyboard’s symbols, I can say it doesn’t have keyboard backlight….Assistance by Acer.

restart then press f2 during bootup and you will enter Bios settings the keyboard on off option is there under the general tab In the Aspire 5 line, bios update 1.06 disable keyboard backlight timeout. Hope this helps.
