How does the trajectory of a bullet work?
If we take a line from the end of the barrel to the target, the bullet is always travelling downwards. Gravity is acting on the bullet. Sights are mounted above the barrel. Because the rear sight is higher than the front sight, the LOS is angled downwards as apposed to the line from barrel to target.
