Are visitors allowed to CUH?

We welcome visitors to CUH and realise the importance of such visits to the well being of our patient’s peace and quiet to rest and recover.

How much is parking in CUH?

You can park in any of the public car parks in CUH at a rate of €2.70 per hour up to a maximum daily charge of €15. A reduced daily charge of €10 is available to patients, carers and visitors by contacting a member of the Security department in person or Tel. 021 4922118.

Can I have visitors in hospital?

Most hospitals have times at which you can visit your friend or relative. Hospitals encourage relatives and friends to visit patients. But patients can get tired very quickly. For this reason, the number of visitors each patient is allowed is usually restricted, typically to no more than 2 people at any one time.

Are visitors allowed in Basildon Hospital?

Visiting times are between 2-3pm and 6-7pm and each patient is allowed one visitor. However, to ensure we can maintain social distancing we will only be able to have two visitors in a bay – which may contain 4-6 beds – at any one time, so this will need to be by prior arrangement with ward staff.

You can now travel and stay overnight to provide care, visit someone who’s dying or attend a funeral in the UK.

How do you visit a dying relative?

Here are a couple of tips to help you keep the visit authentic:

  1. Do say – “It’s good to see you.” Let them know you have been thinking of them.
  2. At a loss for words – It’s OK to say, “Mary, I don’t know what to say or do, but I’m here and I care about you.”
  3. Listen – If the person talks about being anxious, listen quietly.
